VISA WAIVER FOR JAPANESE NATIONALS
The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Japan wishes to inform that the Government of the Republic of Zambia has decided to waiver the visa requirement for Japanese nationals effective 3rd November, 2022.
The waiver comes into effect pursuant to Statutory Instrument No. 69 of 2022 (new Zambian law). This means that Japanese nationals do not require a visa to enter Zambia.

Registration of Zambians in Japan
Registration Form to be submitted by Zambian nationals resident in Japan to the Embassy of Republic of Zambia, Tokyo.
It is the duty of Zambian Missions Abroad to protect and promote interests of Zambian nationals resident outside Zambia. In this regard, Zambians resident in Japan are expected to register with the Zambian Embassy in Tokyo by submitting the Registration Form below to <consular@zambia.or.jp> or physically to the Zambia Embassy in Tokyo. The costs of renewal and replacement of Passports are as follows:

Application for applicants above 10 years of age – Form A and Form N
Application for applicants below 10 years of age – Form B and Form M
However, note that there is one (1) type of form that can not be downloaded. It is only sent to the applicant after receipt of money. It is a bar coded form with a serial number. The Embassy posts this to respective applicants in its original form and should be returned in the same manner.

Adult Applications -above 10 years of age

3. Three (3) recent Passport sized photographs, one of which must be endorsed by the Recommender
4. A photocopy of Birth Certificate or Affidavit of Birth
5. A photocopy of National Registration Card (both sides)
6. Photocopies of Passport (Data page, pages 1-4 and last 2 pages)
Adults Applications -under 10 years of age
1. A duly completed form ‘B’ >>FORM B Download PDF File

3. Three (3) recent Passport sized photographs, one of which must be endorsed by the Recommender
4. A photocopy of Birth Certificate
5. A letter of consent from either Parent
6. A photocopy of either parent’s Passport
7. A photocopy of either parent’s National Registration Card (NRC)
2. TRAVEL DOCUMENT OF IDENTITY will be issued in case of emergency travel only and will be valid for six (6) months only and non-renewable.
It is basically a one way travel document to Lusaka.
3. REPLACEMENT OF PASSPORT
1. A duly completed form ‘A’ and ‘N’ for adults and ‘B’ and ‘M’ for those below 10 years
2. Three (3) recent Passport sized photographs,one of which must be endorsed by the recommender

5. Lost Passport Affidavit
6. A photocopy of National Registration Card, Birth Certificate or Affidavit of Birth
7. A photocopy of Passport (if any)
4. CHANGE OF NAMES
1. A photocopy of any of the following: Marriage certificate, Divorce certificate or Deed poll
2. A duly completed Form ‘E’
5. MODE OF SUBMISSION
1. If by e-mail – forms should be accompanied by a pre-paid self-registered envelope. While request for application forms should be accompanied by a pre-paid self-addressed envelope.
2. All photocopies must be authenticated as true copies of the original documents by the commissioner of Oaths.
3. The validity of new Passports for adults will be for ten (10) years and five (5) years for those below ten (10) years of age.
6. PROCESSING TIME
A minimum of thirty (30) days will be required from receipt of the application. N.B. Zambian passports are issued in Zambia at the following centers: Lusaka, Ndola, and Livingstone.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION OF ZAMBIAN PASSPORT
1. Form A and N for applicants above 10 years of age
2. Form B and M for applicants below 10 years of age
3. Copies of applicant’s or parent’s/guardian’s National Registration Card (NRC)
4. (i) Copies of pages 1,2,3 of old Passport
(ii) Copies of pages 1,2,3 of the passport of the guardian
(iii) Copies of pages 1,2,3 of passport or guardian’s Travel Document of Identity Form ‘G’
5. Three (3) full recent photos without hat, showing full face, with white background and should not be mounted, one of which must be endorsed by the Recommender.
6. Copy of Marriage Certificate for married applicants.
7. For persons born in Zambia of foreign parents, they should produce proof of residential status of their status of their parents/guardians in Zambia at the time of birth of the applicants.
8. Any person claiming legal custody of the children under twenty one (21) years other than biological parents should produce court orders or relevant legal documents committing the child to that person’s custody.
9. Persons born of foreign parent should produce documentary proof to show that one of the parent is a Zambian citizen. (copies of N.R.C and Passport)
10. Travel documents of identity should be issued in cases of emergency travel only, valid not exceeding six (6) months of the one-way validity clause to persons returning to Zambia.
11. All photocopies must be authenticated as true copies of the original relevant documents, by a Commissioner of Oaths.
12. A change of the name other than by marriage or adoption must be substantiated by the production of evidence showing that a bona fide change has been made for all purposes.
Requirements for Repatriation to Zambia of Deceased Zambian Nationals
In the event of the above, the following should be done:-
1. Immediately inform the Embassy
2. Request the funeral parlor to prepare the following documents and send to the Embassy:
– Death Certificate
– Burial Certificate
– Health Certificate
3. Tentative itinerary and the details of the next of kin who is going to receive the body in Zambia.
4. Upon receipt of the above documents, the Embassy will then issue a “No Objection Certificate” or “Health Clearance Certificate” on behalf of the Zambian Government to allow the repatriation accordingly.
