ZAMBIA HOSTS GOLF TOURNAMENT FOR JAPANESE BUSINESS EXECUTIVES

Tokyo, 30 OCTOBER 2017: – The Zambia Embassy in Tokyo, Japan with the support of Hodogaya Country Club over the weekend hosted the annual International Golf Day where over fifty Japanese business executives participated. 

The golf tournament which took place at the prestigious Hodogaya Country Club in Yokohama was used as an opportunity for promoting Zambia as an attractive destination for tourism and Japanese investment. 

H.E Mrs. Ndiyoi M. Mutiti used the occasion to promote enhanced global understanding among the Japanese business executives about Zambia’s business environment and investment opportunities. 

Speaking after the tournament, Mrs. Mutiti urged the business executives to contribute through the enhancement of the two countries friendship through investment. 

“Today, Zambia is looking beyond sport to tourism and investment in various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, education health and indeed sports.” She said I therefore wish to extend an invitation to all of you to visit Zambia. I further urge you to contribute to the enhancement of friendship and economic cooperation between Japan and Zambia by investing there. 

She urged them to take advantage of the prevailing peace and stability in Zambia in order to enhance and grow their businesses. 

“So you are guaranteed to come to an African country that is peaceful, your investment will be secure, and we have appropriate policies and incentives that can ensure you get a good return on investment,” assures Mrs. Mutiti. 

The Ambassador said the Zambian government is pleased that the two countries have continued enjoying excellent relations which have included cultural exchanges and cooperation in the development of sports. 

She said in Zambia, sports are not only one of the key sectors for social and cultural development, but are also a national unifying factor. 

The Ambassador thanked the golf club for according Zambia Embassy chance to host the golf tournament. 

“The Zambian Embassy is pleased to be associated with this annual international Golf Day… It is my sincere hope that this relationship between the Zambian Mission and the club members shall continue and develop further,” said Mrs. Mutiti.
